On Aug 27, 1991 Sinatra made a piano-accompanied recording of "Silent Night." Two takes with Bill Miller and two with Frank, Jr. The released version was take 4, with Frank, Jr (with a choir added at a later date). It was originally released on a charity CD (Children's Records).

Exactly 46 years earlier, he had laid down the same song, with The Ken Lane Singers, to an Axel Stordahl arrangement.

The 1991 recording is like a treasured family Christmas ornament. It's kept in a special box to be opened on Christmas eve and placed on a sturdy branch in the center of the tree. Extremely fragile and worn in spots; but full of memories of Christmases past.

As a Christmas present to Songs By Sinatra fans around the world, here is a special mix of the 1945 and 1991 recordings.
