The main caption reads:
The Sinatra show opened its two-weeks Italian tour in Rome on June 21. It was a good show by USO standards and the GIs liked it. Fay McKenzie sang a few songs, Betty Yeaton danced, and Phil Silvers pulled a succession of gags, most of them funny. Nobody swooned when “The Voice” opened up, but nobody threw any tomotoes either. To the Italian girl friends of the GIs, Sinatra proved to be just another tenor, while the Wacs in the audience were even less enthusiastic. “We’re not babies,” said one Wac. “Took him a long time getting here,” said another.

The caption under the large photo reads:
Mixed expressions—but no screaming—greet Thin Man at Summer Festival show in Foro Mussolini.

The smaller caption reads:
Dazed by flash bulbs, Frankie is escorted from Rome Rest Center by MPs
