Not many people realize that Sinatra produced real albums during his career at Columbia. Most think that all of Sinatra's releases were 78s (or thrown together collections). Please see the article, The Lost Albums Of Frank Sinatra, for a look at these early albums. Frank took advantage of the longer format as soon as Peter Goldmark at Columbia invented it in 1948. Since they were only released in the 10" format, they are very hard to find today.

With the advent of programmable CD players, however, you can re-create these first concept LPs. Like the Reprise Suitcase Conversion tables, here is your chance to "recreate" these important Columbia albums!
You'll need The Complete Columbia Years, 1943-1952 (affectionately known as The Big Blue Box) to accomplish this.

Note that quite a few of the tracks selected for the Big Blue Box are "alternate" takes, so the recreations won't be perfect. Also, Christmas Songs By Sinatra and Sing And Dance have also been reissued (in modified form) on separate CDs
