The ISS, as it is known on the Sinatra mailing list, is one of the better newsletters. Dustin Doctor, along with his mother, Mary, now runs the Society. For many years, the late Gary Doctor headed this society. Each issue, with over thirty pages, is filled with articles on Sinatra, newsclippings, reviews of recordings, and photos of fan's collections. In fact, it is the second longest running publication, just behind the Sinatra Music Society. Membership ($20 for six issues, $25 outside of the US and Canada). Their Web site represents an online catalogue for shopping for Sinatra compact discs.
The Sinatra Society of America
PO Box 2705
Toluca Lake, CA 91610-0705
Charles Pignone runs the Sinatra Society of America. For many years, this group was based in Newtonville, NY. They recently moved to California. Pignone is on the most "inside" of the fan organizations, attending many of Sinatra's concerts over the past years.

When Sinatra was touring, each issue would list the songs Sinatra sang during his concert appearances. Recently, the Society was proud to sponsor a mural of Frank Sinatra, The Voice of the Century, located across the street from the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles. Membership is $20 per year for 5 issues. Membership is $30 outside of the USA.

The SMS is one of the older societies. Their newsletter covers more than Sinatra, although Sinatra is the primary focus. They have numerous local chapters in the UK, where musical programs are featured. Highlights of these programs are reviewed in Perfectly Frank, the name of their newsletter. Members receive 6 color magazines a year (glossy!) packed with reviews, concert timetables, articles on Frank and other easy listening artists, articles for sale, press cuttings and contributions from members. There are monthly branch meetings all over the UK. The Society was founded in 1955.

The Sinatra Music Society now has their own website click here to see it!
